Talk by Bishop John Shelby Spong - http://www.johnshelbyspong.com/

As an activist, speaker, and author, Bishop John Shelby Spong is an outspoken advocate for church reform. He shares a message of life based on love not hate, inclusion rather than exclusion, opportunity not discrimination, and intelligent, questioning faith rather than blind belief. The topic for the first part of this program is "Religious Wounds: The Power of Guilt." Part two is "Religious Healing: The Power of Wholeness." 2010.

  • It is Satan who is the God of our planet and the only God. Satan (or Lucifer) represents the Centrifugal Energy of the Universe, this ever-living symbol of self-sacrifice for the intellectual independence of humanity. "----Sister H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine Pages 215, 216, 220, 245, 255, 533

Yup. Bishop Spong fits right in with this channel. For an alternative view, see Chris White's videos on his NowhereToRun1984 channel. If truth matters to you.

  • @PoliticalJunkie2036 Because he has the audacity to disagree with some of them! Unlike most of those folks, Spong has the intellectual honesty and integrity to call it like he sees it- he honors God and truth above the pride of arrogant men. Most of them never bother to think about what they believe- they just defend their in-group, like any other clung to identity (Republicans, Trotskyists, Americans, Baptists, football fans, etc).

  • @ideologger Watching his videos, and having read thru some of his books, its so hard for me to read people's comments about his so-called "heresy." This man is not a heretic, he is attempting to politely bring Christianity into our lives, making it a living, breathing religion and not hold it back, confining it to the texts of the Bible which has so much good in it, but also, so much evil that cannot be utilized today.

  • Bishop Spong for Pope! :D

  • Yes but it's selective guilt. Most Christians still hold Jews responsible for the Crucifixion. They don't even second guess it. Never mind that without Jesus' murder there would be no foundation for Christianity. I don't know. This guy does not come off as a deep or profound thinker. If he wants to heal Christianity then he needs to pay more attention to it's deformed relationship to Judaism.

  • @WillyFWilder One thing you can do is go to iTunes store and search podcasts and iTunes U for Bishop Spong. You will find many interviews and recorded lectures by Bishop Shelby Spong there. Unfortunately Bishop Spong doesn't have his own podcast network or youtube channel.

  • I want more. Does anybody know if there is a full video of this presentation. This looks wonderfully interesting
