Wouldn't surprise me much if the pilot intentionally crashed the plane on THAT date to scare everyone into think it's happening all over again :P

Erm just for your info the steel on your mudflap brackets is considerably thinner and weaker than a 10 ton rsj, let's see you heat that up and bend it back and of course the fact that it is an I steel and cannot bend unless put under extreme stress and it would take more than a plane full of kerosine to melt steel as kerosine burns at 1200 oC max and steels melting point is nearer 2000 oC, sorry does not work or add up!!!!

@Bryanalabas it didn't melt the steel, all you have to do is get the steel hot enough that it loses its rigidity. in the winter I occasionally bend up a mudflap bracket on my trailers while backing, the mudflap gets caught between packed snow & the tire & it pulls the bracket out of shape. I repair the bracket by heating it up to around 400 degrees F (just shy of cherry red) then pushing it back in place with my feet & a hammer. this is nowhere near melting temp.
