Ride 'em catbird! Cockatiel riding the cat

This is one of my cockatiels, Fabian, sitting and riding on the back of my cat, Annabella. Bella kitty is all girl and is shown here expressing the purse fetish she's had since she was a kitten. She also has a thing for shoes, of course, but I digress. Fabian often sits, climbs, lands and rides on her, maybe because she is warm and furry, but then they do seem to like each other quite well, so it's hard to say. Fabian's brother, Elvis, isn't as cozy with Annabella, but he does preen her ears once in a while. Bella is an incredibly good kitty and apparently doesn't mind being used as a perch, at least she has yet to complain and is very gentle with both birds, but I get the impression that she is a bit bothered by the claws in her back. I don't leave them together without close supervision, but she really seems to like the birds a lot.

one scratch or lick from that cat to your cockatiel can kill your bird. Cat and dogs carry a deadly bacteria that kills birds. Please be careful and do research on what I just told you.

Please, all of you worry-warts out there, I am well aware of the bacteria issue. I asked my avian vet about it the week I got the birds & she deemed our circumstances to be safe. She has only seen 2 cases of fatal infection & both involved extremely DEEP scratches. My cat was old & weak, never went outside or learned to hunt & was always very gentle toward the birds. She wore claw caps, so she couldn't have scratched them. She passed away back in August, so all of this is a non-issue now anyway.

our bird cage fell down

my dog ripped all the feathers off and licked and scratched my bird before mum saw it and took it to the vet. then we gave it antibiotics and its still alive.

(this happened last year)

her buddy flew away so we got another one and he's still alive
