'The Hidden' is my effort at a solo stop-motion animation for the 48 Hours Film competition. I had fun, although it was pretty crazy and I wouldn't necessarily try it again. The genre was 'M Night Shyamalan Big Twist Film', and the other elements to include were a rock, "it doesn't fit", and a character called Alex Puddle.
All sets and characters were created within the timeframe. I got about 3 hours of sleep out of 60. Couldn't be as perfectionist as usual and there are various issues but at least I made the deadline! (And Hamilton finals, and 'best animation' for the region).
Big thanks to Carl (see his monster voice-recording process mid-credits), Jeremy (music master - see www.onefatman.co.nz), Duane, Geoff and Pranesh for tech awesomeness, Joe, Wintec, and Em's Power Cookies (seriously good cookies that kept me going throughout - see www.powercookies.com).
Thanks! It was mostly an experiment to see if I could manage it, and I had fun. Basically just recreated the technical setup (digital SLR to computer) from my last film...and went crazy for 48 hours!
