If you don't know the history of the building, be very careful entering. Negative energy will never leave that building, unless another energy host (a human) comes in. Places like this are usually haunted, because bad things happened there. As far as the hole in the ground, who knows, it could've been looters looking for a specific treasure/gold after its family abandoment.
