This is the second theme music used on the game show "Celebrity Sweepstakes".
Celebrity Sweepstakes was an American television game show that aired on NBC's daytime schedule from April 1, 1974 to October 1, 1976. The show also had two separate weekly syndicated runs from 1974 to 1975 and 1976 to 1977. The Host was Jim McKrell.
This music is titled "The Stars Come Out" and was written by Alan Thicke.

  • This song has been playing in my head since about 1975! I faintly remember this show; I was 4 years old back then...

    GREAT POST!

  • NBC was idiotic to get rid of all of their daytime shows like that.

  • This sounds like it would have been composed by Alan Thicke. Remember he did "Wizard of Odds" which was the first game show hosted by Alex Trebek in 1973.

  • I remeber that game, and I saw Redd Foxx

    on one of the episodes.

  • One other episode still exists other than the pilot & final ep. The Paley Museum has a copy of an ep that Andy Warhol taped on his home VCR. I watched this last time I was at the museum in NYC. Gavin MacLeod was in position #1, but I don't remember anyone else from that ep right now.

  • So sad that NBC did that.

  • I loved this show.

  • Only the pilot and final NBC episode exist.

  • This is the version that Alan Thicke wrote. Better than the first.

According to Wikipedia, there are only two daytime episodes that exist. No one knows if the nightime syndicated shows are still available.

  • Liked the second theme better than the first. It had a horse racing theme to it!
