It's probably pathetic of me at 23 in 2010 to still have something of a schoolboy crush on Ann & Nancy Wilson. But I can't help it. I'm turned on by smart, talented, attractive women. ;)
But all joking aside, Dreamboat Annie is one hell of an album, from start to finish. The artistic likes of which Heart has yet to best, in my opinion.
I don't know if Heart's original bassist Steve Fossen ever used a Rickenbacker or not. According to some videos I've seen from that era, his main weapons of choice were a Fender Jazz Bass or a Gibson Thunderbird. Although, I have seen a photo of Ann Wilson playing one. Strange...
"Soul of the Sea" definitely sounds close to a Rickenbacker, but "Dreamboat Annie" almost definitely sounds like a Fender bass, but since I didn't feel like splicing together 2 different performances or pausing to switch basses, I just did it all on the Ric. I'll do another video of 2 Heart songs with my Ric and my P-bass in the near future as a comparison.
(on a side note, if anybody watching this somehow knows anybody associated with Heart in anyway, please feel free to send this video their way. I know that they just changed bass players again. I wonder how long the new guy will last.... I know it's also probably a bit pathetic of me to try and lobby a gig on Youtube, but hey... It worked for Journey!)
Anyway, enjoy...
You sell this bass?

@FenderMayones No. Just showing that this knock off bass sounds almost as good as the original.

i find that i am always humming a base to my favorite songs, which this is my most favorite;
"mamma ocean hold me..........,
no one can touch them.....you said it.
Just a note; don't wait for a hook up with heart because the years will go by so fast and soon you'll be 50......
We all do the same....we get into trance states playing our favorite tunes while the world goes by.
keep rockin

@stacit1 I meant that facetiously. I meant it as a jab at Journey (a band I absolute despise by the way) And in all honestly, I don't think I'd really enjoy being a touring musician, I'd like to have some creative input in what I'm doing. And honestly, I think Heart jumped the shark after Bebe LeStrange (and even that album had some pretty terrible tracks, in my humble opinion of course), and I'm pretty sure that wouldn't get me the job. Either way, I didn't mean that as an actual career goal.
