See this elevator in it's current state: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tocgOdOAzd4 - They are just too cheap to modernize this thing.

  • The link in the description contains a malformed video ID according to YouTube.

  • @ELTIGREROCKS10NEW Thanks for letting me know. I fixed it.

  • are you going to upload the hilarious dover commercial again?

  • Thanks for reminding me, I'll upload it today

  • Next time, the cab will be missing. :)

  • lol! But this whole hotel is seriously in trouble. No one is staying here anymore so they probably don't have the money to fix this thing, but then again, how much can a new Dover Impulse indicator cost?

  • that is bad and the chime keeps dinging

  • A broken alarm button doesn't inspire much confidence in the elevator-imagine how many people would have had to get stuck in the elevator for the ALARM button to break!

I'll bet next time there'll be a short circuit and everything metal in the cab will have electricity going through it so you get shocked when you grab the handrails or touch the control panel!

  • I'd hate to see the machine room and shaft! I'll bet the governor won't work! (the governor is the thing that stops the elevator from falling if something really went wrong)

I'll bet if they actually had the elevator inspected (fat chance) and a violation related to the safety device(s) was listed they'd just put balloons or a mattress at the bottom of the elevator shaft instead of getting it fixed!

  • the link says:

The URL contained a malformed video ID.

    Sorry about that.

    when i click it...

  • Next time ThyssenKrupp and Dover will be missing

  • @clarkloveselevators

In that place, it'll just be the sling, with 3 of the 4 support arms broken.

  • @georgef551 That could happen!!!

  • Wow, that is one unattractive, sad looking elevator. The floor signal sounds like it's crying in agony, the cab fan sounds like it's singing a dirge, and if I was the elevator inspector, I would give this elevator an "F." By the way, what year was the elevator installed in, and will you make another video of it, to see what it's like now?
