@flavadaveflynn7 It's all part of the philly sound. The same group of musicians and writers and arrangers who worked on Thom Bell's cuts also worked on Gamble & Huff's and Bobby Martin's (the producer of the Continental IV). That sitar was an instrument that they had lying around the Sigma Studio for a while, so it was used on recordings dating back to the late 60s.
@wethazel06 Yep that's right....Larry and Ronnie. Anthony's sister used to talk to one of them waay back then.
@ alphakilla1 I lived in Bentley Woods Apts for awhile and I remember late at night we'd sit outside listening to the radio and Day by Day would come on. I betcha all of Glassboro was smiling and singing right along with them...PROUD!!! Those were good times!!
I don't know where they are now but, I grew up in the same Elsmere Projects in Glassboro, NJ and, I knew Freddy Kelly. He was a little older than me though. Wer'e still proud of what they did. God bless them.
oh boy ...........this song is telling my whole life story........when i was a teenager in the early 70s,,,,,,,,,,,,and i was living in a dream world ,,,,cause he went with someone else......

A blatant attempt to imitate Tom Bell's sound. Nonetheless a decent tune.
