Lycia is a distinctive region of the pre-Hellenistic world whose earliest settlements date from around 1400 BC. It means the "Land of the Sun". Most guests arrive at Antalya International Airport and are collected by a car from Olympos Lodge. The 80 km drive south passes through some of the better known tourist centres and touches some of the more important archeological sites of classical antiquity. The sea road along the Turkish riviera climbs the mountains before descending into a seven km-long emerald green valley that leads to the seaside village of Çıralı. Olympos Lodge is located directly on the beach next-door to the ancient site of Olympos.
