-------------------- The two drove in silence for a good ten minutes before Logan slowed to a halt two blocks away from the high school they had attended last year. Gritting his teeth together, he turned his head in Miley's direction, staring right into his sisters eyes with the very hatred he'd been feeling towards her for the past 12 months. " Get out." He hissed, venom dripping from his words.


Cocking her head to the side, a confused expression took over Miley's face. " W-what?" She stammered, feeling her hands begin to shake.


Clenching his hands in and out of fist form, Logan resulting into closing his eyes to calm him down. " What, you're deaf now? I said to get out. I'd rather not go to school at all then show up with you in the passenger seat, so get the hell out."


With her quivering hands, Miley quickly grabbed her school bag and pushed open the door, carefully stepping outside without falling from her now shaking legs.


" Dad doesn't find out about this." Were his last words before he zoomed off in the direction of the school. Miley began chewing on her lip, slowly walking towards the school. She wasn't surprised by her brothers behavior, but she was surprised by how much it stung on his particular morning. Thankfully, she was fresh out of tears and could attend the first day back at school with a clear face.




* * * Nick smiled shyly at the sigh of Selena, the school's Queen Bee, as she walked by with her minions trailing behind her. He almost broke down when her best friend Demi's eyes lingered on him for a moment longer than necessary. " Dude, did you see that? Demi wants me. Its official." Nick announced, fist pumping the air--which smelt like both roses and like chocolate chips they sold at the cafeteria--- which lead to Joe, his best friend, shoving him into a locker.


" Give it a rest." He murmured, rolling his eyes as they began walking to their first class.


Nick frowned, " Just because you're getting it in with Selena, doesn't mean you can rain on my parade--" Joe shoved him into another locker, chuckling to himself. " I cut it off with her, man. She's too clingy." A shiver ran down his spine as his thoughts wondered back to the days when she'd try to have him wrapped around her finger. Of course that failed, the two were just both constantly fighting for the main role in the relationship---the dominant one, and eventually they called it quits. "Currently single and ready to mingle." He announced, just as two blond juniors walked by. They giggled obnoxiously and both winked at him, arguing about who had dibs as they continued further down the hall.




Now it was Nick's turn to roll his eyes, " Well isn't someone a bit cocky?"


" Who?" Joe asked, winking at another girl that passed by, causing another minutes of obnoxious giggling. With another chuckle of his own, he turned to face Nick and grinned smugly.
