@daveassanowicz Actually, the reason George Lucas didn't direct the sequels is because he didn't want a repeat of the problematic production of ANH. In order to protect his massive investment in TESB (Lucas is the one who put up the money for it), he wanted to oversee the financial aspects of the film while keeping 20th Century Fox from sabotaging the production. The whole issue with the credits at the beginning of the film was the Writer's and Director's Guild.
