Just a slideshow of random pictures and two clips from Pride and Prejudice that I used to Coldplay's Cemeteries of London. Credit to Lady Kate for the clips and the creators of the pictures I borrowed. BTW I just noticed I accidently misspelled "cemeteries" in the end, lol, just try to ignore it I guess. Please comment and enjoy!

[Song] Cemeteries of London
[Artist] Coldplay
[Lyrics]

At night they would go walking
'til the breaking of the day
The morning is for sleeping
Through the dark streets they go searching
To seek God in their own way
Save the nighttime for your weeping
Your weeping

Singing la lalalala la lé...
And the night over London lay

So we rode down to the river
Where Victorian ghosts pray
For their curses to be broken
We'd go wandering 'neath the arches
Where the witches are and they say
Where are ghost towns in the ocean
The ocean

Singing la lalalala la lé
And the night over London lay

God is in the houses and God is in my head
And all the cemeteries in London
I see God come in my garden
But I don't know what he said
For my heart, it wasn't open
Not open

Singing la lalalala la lé...
And the night over London lay
Singing la lalalala la lé
There's no light over London today

I OWN NOTHING.

  • Victorian England saw a resurgence of Enlightenment thought; an attempt to scientifically reason why things as they are. This song deals with the supernatural because the otherworldly cannot be explained by empiricism; they are faith-based, subjective concepts. This song confronts the uncanny that overarches from the Victorian to the present, as the narrator attempts to comprehend the unknown through a variety of subjects: ghosts, witches, and God.

    P.s., I enjoy this song too much. : )
