  • Thich Nhat Hanh is a walking miracle. How a small man with a voice so soft like Hanh has the power to slowly change the world like he does? What a blessing to our generation and generations to come. Thank you Thay! We never met but we know each other in happiness and suffering. God bless your heart.

  • First DHarma book I found ..was by this master.

    And in all places,the trash!

Since then I have followed the path, not the same tradition as Thich Nhat Hanh, but nonetheless i'm buddhist now,and am preparing for ordination, thanks in part to him.

  • This is a great video

  • good work here

  • you have some great stuff here

  • @zthetha Yes, a testament that his effect upon people is as immediate, gentle & genuine as it is. You make an honest (and humorous) point about some general contrasts between Western & Asian cultures. Traditionally, Asian cultures tend to prize modesty, humility, restraint. Such traits can have positive or negative aspects, depending upon various factors. But, in Thich Nhat Hahn, these traits seem all of a truly authentic piece/peace, in the most healthy & naturally empowering sense.

  • Representing Vietnam to the fullest. We need more powerful and respectful men like you Thich Nhat Hanh.

  • @thegrandwazoooo

I would not let that stop your seeking of knowledge and peace. It does seem really strange to me as I have only encountered nice people along my path in regards to others who are seeking mindfulness. Find a new place and I am sure it will work out! Best wishes. Stephen

  • A truly remarkable man - it's almost unbelievable that a human being could embody such compassion, gentleness, strength and simplicity. As a Westerner I would love to be like him but we are not predisposed to being 'passive' in the way Orientals are - and when we try to ape them we look like the big, angular, self-conscious posers in this audience.

  • Walpola Rahula says lose yourself in mindfulness

Thich Nhat Hanh says come home to yourself

    Walpola says "breath body"

    Thich says "body"

Walpola says mindfulness does NOT mean being conscious "I am..."

the sattipatana sutta says "he is aware, I AM breathing in"

Will someone please help me understan

  • @ thegrandwazoo. Either your perception is skewed or they genuinely were giving you the cold shoulder. If it is the latter, dont let a few bad apples ruin the bunch. Buddhism is about what you learn from it and how YOU use it. What others do is their karma and their individual path. Search for another group or start your own layperson group. However, if you think that your perception of the individuals' actions may have been wrong, then try returning or opening up and asking about it. Just sug

  • I was interested in buddhism and i went to Mindful Living meetings( Plum village tradition). However after a few weeks the couple who ran the centre began to be really unfriendly towards me ...so eventually I stopped going.Baffled how I could possibly have offended them by sitting meditating. Can anyone enlighten me ...I has sort of put me off Buddhism.
