In this video I show you how to fix up a power window switch that intermittently won't work.

I show every step that I think is important so hopefully this will help anyone who is interested.

  • Good video, my passenger side wouldn't go up, took it apart and one of the white plastic rods that rock on the contacts was melted almost back to where it goes into the button and spring. Ended up just buying a new unit from holden... $115 :'(

  • @xfadetoblack Oh damn.. Guess it's too late now, but did you go to a wreckers? I'm sure you could have found a power window switch there and just taken the white rod out and put it into your switch. Heck, you might have even been able to get it from an earlier model commodore (but don't quote me on that).

  • Excellent, your video made my job a lot easier and cheaper and saved me alot of frustration, unfortunately it did not fix my problem but i did find other things wrong with the switches that would have caused me grief later on. It looks like the problem is my window regulator, you wouldn't have a video on the removal of one ?

  • i just bought one off ebay 30 bucks!

  • cheers mate!. my passenger side window was stuck down, just bought a new switch unit all together and replaced, works fine, thanks!

  • I love a free solution to a problem. Thank you very much. All it cost me was an hour or so, as well as a little cursing and heavy breathing ;|

Someone had been there before me and broken most of the little plastic tangs on the module. The drivers switch had also been butchered so that one of the locating holes was broken. Also, one of the little white plastic legs inside that switch had been replaced with a metal one, so i might source a replacement switch if it annoys me enough

  • Thank you! I'm having the same trouble with my VZ power window switches. Only difference is my driver's window has problems going down, not up.

  • that was an awesome video helped me out heaps cheers mate!
