  • @schoolfreeware I ReAlly need your help, i just bought the new macPro 15 i7 , and i tried using Speech Recongition using both the internal mic and Nokia bluetooth headset, which both of them work perfectly on programms like Skype when i try using the speech commands the bubble on only detects the volume to be in the blue (low) zone ,even when i set the Mic volume and Calibration on highest PLZZ reply ASAP , regards

  • @maddkiller93 Speech recognition is a bit finicky because they not only need to hear the audio, but need to be able to hear it clearly enough to translate it. I would recommend only using an Nuance speech recognition recommended microphone (such as the one that came in the box).

  • Very cool, D! Might give it a try.

It took me 20 minutes to type the line above! :-)

    peace,

    Tim / Chessdude67 stop by......

  • @chessdude67 Let me guess, "Send from my iPhone" ? ;-)

  • I began using Dragon Naturally Speaking when I was 8 years old, because I did not have the use of my hands, but it sucked really bad. I've tried newer versions and they seemed ok, but I still have better accuracy when I type with my mouth.... I should try MacSpeech, it does look impressive.

  • @mdzura117 I used ViaVoice back in 1999 and was not that impressed. it was helpful given I had some wrist injuries at the time, but I left it as soon as i could. The accuracy has gotten a lot better in the past decade. It's still not perfect, but when you got a lot to say, or are using an iOS device, it might be a time saver. The hardest part is speaking without the "uhs" and remembering to say "comma".

  • @WinterHaven Windows speech recognition doesn't even compare to Dragon NaturallySpeaking trust me I am typing actually I'm speaking this text right now via Dragon NaturallySpeaking and has zero errors if I was to do this with window's speech recognition it would barely get past first word.

  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking is by far the best speech recognition program out there

  • @maddkiller93 - internal mic is not recommended mainly because it doesn't filter out noise. You can use the bundled plantronics usb headphone set, if you have purchased the downloaded install package, it doesn't come with a microphone, you can purchase a logitech USB headphone set, make sure that it has the Mac logo in the packaging.

  • @MonsterDill lol no =) but i mostly use mac and dont care about that...

  • @darkdog4440 mine sucks arse, does yours work well?

  • @darkdog4440 Someone told me the Windows speech recognition works better than the commercial ones!
