[MHFreedom2nd] Bowgunning Tigrex

Having trouble with 5* Tigrex? Here's a solution...

Thought it was weird that there are no other videos on killing Tigrex with Bowgun, since it is probably the fastest and easiest way to do Absolute Power.

Sleep Bombing is rather expensive, but it's a pretty effective way to kill Tigrex at this point in the game.

All you need:

A Bowgun that supports Sleep S2 (and hopefully S1 too)
Felyne Mask, or an armor set that provides Bomber
Sleep S2 x8 (Combine Sleepyfish + Sm Bone Husk)
Sleep S2 x4 (You only use these to "top off" Tigrex, which is why you only need a few)
Some Normal S2 for the Blangos and to detonate
Lg Barrel Bomb+ x2
Lg Barrel Bomb x2
Scatterfish x2
A trap and Tranq Bombs for capturing

Optional:
An armor set that provides Recoil Reduction+2 (+1 is worthless, don't get the skill at all if you can't get the 15 Recoil for +2)
Healing items
Large Barrel, Scatterfish, and Gunpowder x2 if you want to kill

Keep in mind that the power of the Bowgun does not matter in Sleep Bombing (it makes a small difference, but so small it doesn't matter). I was actually planning to use Blessed Lamp (it has three slots and supports all the necessary ammo, and it's an Elder level Bowgun), but then decided to bring Profusion and Thunder S/Pierce S/Normal S ... just in case.

Sleep S 2 inflicts 50 Sleep on each hit.
Sleep S 1 inflicts 25 Sleep on each hit.
It takes 150 Sleep to put Tigrex to sleep the first time, 200 the second, and 250 the third. Tigrex will recover Sleep over time at a rate of 5 every 10 seconds - so unless you're VERY fast, you need to use enough Sleep S 2 to put him to sleep, then shoot him with one Sleep S 1 to counteract the Sleep that he recovered over time.

This isn't an idiot-proof method to kill Tigrex - you still need to know how to dodge his attacks and such if you want to get those Sleep S in. You will also have a much harder time than I did, because I used Recoil Reduction+2 armor (it eliminates the huge recoil on Sleep S2, you'll have a harder time due to that recoil)

Also, apparently it only takes 1800 HP worth of damage to weaken Elder Tigrex enough to capture.

Against Guild Tigrex, you will probably need to bomb him a third time (Guild Monsters have higher defence). It is possible to Sleep Bomb for Land of the Tremors, but it won't do sufficient damage by itself to weaken both Tigrexes.

Dedicated to DeamonXanth, who probably would've known how easy Bowgunning Tigrex is if he had ever tried it.

i rape this tigrex using sandfall and rathian set its easy i thought it was hard using bring a thunder ammo and flashbomb

use one bomb when it is sleeping becuz only one hits it and lay it by it legs so it will trip and you can get some attacks in with the normal 3
