  • Many problems. The pitch pipe was a semitone sharp. There was no accommodate to the acoustic. The style was grand operatic and the recording level was too high, or later enhanced to the 'louder is better' level. Very much ambient noise was unduly loud when the choir finished. Only the last point was out of the control (perhaps) of the director. A pity to waste the potential that is there for really good singing. And what a disappointment for the listener.

  • OUCH! What key are they singing this in? It's written in G and this sounds like it's in A. What a screech! Quite an awful and over-loud assault on the ear. The score for this piece inicates a great deal of dynamic contrast and this rendition simply does not refelect that. During the final phrase they did decide to calm down, but that affords little compensation for the bad direction of the entire performance.
