I has come to my atention that a video posted by Robert Miller was on youtube, in it he is criticising Another video that uses the tux as part of the film. He contends that The author of the video should have credited Larry Ewig, but did not. Well Robet miller is editor in chief of OSTG, and .... well, watch the video.
Checklist:
* Robin Miller
* Larry Ewing

You're probably right: Robin Miller may be wrong "in good faith", and the PR entity behind "Al Gore's Penguin Army" may be right (bad? faith). Everybody should know that lying isn't unlawful, most of the time. And surely, when Mr. Ewing stated "Permission to use and/or modify this image is granted provided you acknowledge me ... and The GIMP if someone asks." he should've thought of Tux even becoming a porno star. I think "Penguin Army" is a piece to teach what propaganda and manipulation are.

Wow, very well put together and very fascinating. You should consider making a full length documentary on the matter.
I can't figure out why you went through the trouble of creating this video; are you a member of the copyright police for Linux, or an affiliate of the oil corporations who are trying to debunk global warming?

You should try writing a script before hand and possibly editing the video file to remove any "uhs" and other bloopers. Also you seemed to haev missed this: "All trademarks and copyrights on this page are owned by their respective owners."

The article that showed up in your search ("A Switch for the Better") references "Larry Ewing's iconic rendering of Tux" and links to the relevant wikipedia page ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tux ).
So there is at least one attribution to Tux's creator on Slashdot. Actually, it shows up quite often, if you know how to search properly, but this particular article showed up in YOUR search. You just fail to read the article.
However, attribution is not necessary unless someone asks.

Hmm... for some reason this isn't showing up correctly as a "video reponse" to the piece it talks about, even I'm happy to have it there and "allowed" it even though I have things set so "video responses" *should* show up with or without approval.
So you know: OSTG uses "Tux" purely as a Linux logo and, since you ask, I am telling you: Larry Ewing created "Tux" using "The Gimp," a fine piece of free software I use myself.
