Why on earth did he not shift rudder to hard a starboard when he realised that the stern was drifting towards to buoy?? If he has twin screws also putting port engine to full ahead and starboard to slow ahead (doubtful if reversing on engine and/or using bow trusters has any significant effect over 5 knots), this could have saved the situation or?
