This is a short timelapse of me creating my ghetto entry 'Escape Paradise'. I can't promise it'll be any good, but if you don't know what it looks like to make a video game in a very short timespan, this might interest you. I'll post some links to more interesting bits to save you all the trouble of skimming it. Each second of the video is a minute and a half in real life, which you can see in the bottom-right computer clock.
This was made for Ludum Dare 21, which is a tri-annual 48 hour game creation competition. 599 entries were created this time around, and I'm hoping that it at least finishes in the top 50% when voting is done in 3 weeks. :P
My LD21 entry can be found here (with complete source code/assets):

You can play my game directly from my site here:

I wish I had time to add animations, a simple music loop, and a couple of other hazards and challenges for the player to encounter, but such is LD and I ran out of time. :D I learnt a lot with this one, so next time I'll be better prepared and won't scope my game so high.
If you have any questions about development, post here and I'll answer. You can also ask me questions on Twitter as @bkavs and I'll respond right away.
I used:
Photoshop CS3
Flashpunk (by the wonderful Chevy Ray Johnston)
FlashDevelop IDE (I love this program)
Ogmo Level Editor (Props to the author, Matt Thorson!)
BFXR (for a couple of pickup sounds)
Audacity (for SFX and .mp3 export to embed in mah .swfs)
Chronolapse for the timelapse capture (amazing program)
The music I used for this video is all Anamanaguchi. They are amazing and are making this video somewhat interesting, so go see them live any chance you get, or buy their music:

Thanks for checking this out! Hope it wasn't too boring. :3

@digidude11 I have been learning to program over the last 5 years or so, but you can easily learn faster than that. I just know how to hack something functional together. :)
I used Flashpunk, which has a ton of tutorials to get you set up. If you look for the main website, there are tutorials all over that will show you everything you need. I'd recommend Game Maker if you are just starting out, though. It isn't as much programming and is more visual scripting.

@indieGivaway This was the first thing I read this morning, so thanks for helping my day start off right. ;)

I should mention that it isn't a full 48 hours; I turned off chronolapse while I was sleeping and out of the house. :3
