FMI BASS WEEDWACKER PRO STRINGS PLAYED BY PRO 10-11-08

Weedwacker Pro Strings being played and talked about by pro player Alan out of Los Angeles. He was camera shy so I left his face out of the video, but he was very happy with the Weedwacker Pro Strings and wanted to say something about them on camera. I wish the camera would record better - the loud click overwhelms the mic and kills the bass sound. So you won't hear the bass nearly as well thru this video as you would in person. Anybody have an answer to how to screen out the mic overwhelming percussion so it will get the full bass sound recorded too?

@bigbullfiddler Aarrghh matey, almost no sound because THE MIC cuts back when the percussive slap hits it. So YOU CAN'T hear the actual acoustic sound that is there. Takes a better kind of mic to get both at once. Do you know what can do this affordably ? Love to hear about it.

I played psychobilly for years. I played on friggin steels, i has speed AND sound. THAT'S the way it should be. Are you telling me that a bass should not have sound because it's some style of music? What kind of nonsense is that?

the nylons i got are alot fatter than my steel chords how should i go about fitting them? into the bridge and the nut should a pro do this or can it be done at home??

Does FMI ship their strings and basses overseas? I want Weedwackers and i live - sadly - in Finland..

Could not have said it any better! Of course you should be able to hear the bass notes, not just the clicks, Weedwhackers just suck.

A K&K bassmax and a small amp will do the trick. A painted bass always loses alot of his 'body'. So when your filming with a camera it' sounds like crap. As you see here. And Ritgran, psycho is NOT supposed to sound like this at all.
