Thanks a lot! :)
I currently have a wren guard up on my BB house (a quick one put together with cardboard because a wren was nearby) and have heard that HOSPs don't normally go under a guard... I hope and pray that's the case.
If I see them interested in the BB house I will put a sparrow spooker up as I've heard that helps.
I do also have a Van Ert in-house trap that I will use on my empty BB house if the HOSPs act interested.
I wish you luck with your BBs and/or your TS! :)

Those will all help. I also have some trip wire on top and on the face. So sparrows will be deterred.
So far so good and the TS are mating.
But esp today the BB's been checking the box out too. So, Im going to out up another box 20 ft away.
Thanks, you too!

Oh my goodness! :( That poor precious little baby! :,(
Thank God he's still alive but... how's he doing now?
I just can't believe how evil House Sparrows are! It scares me to death as I have BB houses up this year for the first time ever...
Anyway good luck with your sweet little birds and thanks for the vid! :)

This is from last year. This year I have new tactics. Right now both BB and TS are coming to the house. I would prefer the TS because they are less frightened than the BBs. I can get real close to them and you can handle the babies as well...and the TS won't notice your scent on them.

I would put up House Defenses and be proactive in killing the HOSP. One Idea, is to put out food in the winter, and pick off the males..the HOSP are nasty, and will be persistent.

I know all about HOSP and all the scare tactics.
This year I have a new project and wil be incorporating some offensive/defensive measures. These were not mine to dictate those actions. This yr, they if any will be mine.

Yes!! I tried some things, but when I wasn't around...that damn House Sparrow got in there!
The final Video is going up next...It's sad. I could have done more.
