Introducing the newest member of our flock, Pigwidgeon. He is an American Green Budgie (Parakeet) who we rescued from our downstairs neighbors. When we got him, he had a severely overgrown beak, was underweight, fatty liver disease, and may have a testicular tumor (we now know for sure he does: prognosis is not good). He has since gained some weight and is getting used to his new Mommy & Daddy. He is sweet and tame, and we love him!

  • After you rescued him, how long after that did you get him to eat healthy foods?

  • @FatJan 2 days.

  • Is he still alive? How did you treat his liver disease?

  • @FatJan No, he died this past November.

  • @beneryerlikaya He came that way and then we let him grow his wings back. He loved us to the day he passed away from cancer. So what was your "point" again?

  • @stargazrt4 I'm very sorry to hear that. He was beautiful.

  • What a beautiful budgie :) Makes me sad, I miss mine so much :'(

  • soooo cute :)

  • YOU ARE SO AWESOMEEE :D!

  • @beneryerlikaya its not always a good thing to let a parakeets wings get TOO over grown. mine had her wings would not stop at the "normal" point and it would make her feel heavier than normal and weaker to the point where she didnt even want to walk or spread her wings

  • @stargazrt4 amen...

  • how long did he live after u rescued him?

  • I wish mine were this tame. Both of my keets are just psychotic. And believe me, I have been trying to tame them for the last three years, but nope, just as skiddish as the day I got them

  • you should have named him rodney . lol jk
