slDM, the SL Democratic Movement, is an organisation by and for users in the Second Life world, campaigning for user rights, user protection and selfrule.
We believe that the governance of SL by the owner Linden Lab is both in theory and practice completely off balance; LL's governance and Terms of Service are dictatorial, not acknowledging the decisive part the users play in the creation, success and sustaining of the Second Life world.
We believe that a revolution is needed - radical changes in practical governance and the theoretical basis, the Terms of Service.
For meaningful change, we have to unite and demand change of the Terms of Service.

slDM believes we should target some specific articles, which when radically changed will form the basis for the full emancipation of the user in this usercreated world.-

1. For an end to the unilateral contract changes and forcing more democratic, cooperative and horizontal structures between LL and the SL userbase concerning governance we have to demand change of the pretext

2. For an end to the "for any reason or no reason"-paradigm, for protection of individual user against arbitrary deletion and banning as well as forcing a more transparent and reasonable "justice"-system which enables accountability, we have to demand change of article 2.6 and 3.2b

To change the system, we, the users of SL, need to unite and organise - the time for revolution is NOW!
