A 9 dollar minimum wage is not the solution. Employer's main concern is making a profit. Having to pay employees more money will inevidably lead to less hiring. Thus Mr. President you have now made a minimum wage earner go from earning 7.50 an hour to 0 an hour. Further the presidents jab at CEO's is aggravating. Those men did not inherit their positions. They received it through hard work, aswell as their own skills. If a man is better at his job than someone else he should get paid more

why not make it mandatory for employers to pay six figures to all employees while you are at it?

government controlled wages and prices have a way of coming back to bite the people in the arse. big government actions almost always have terrible unintended consequences.

if centrally planned price fixing and wage fixing actually worked, Soviet Union would never have failed.

higher minimal wage is pointless , employers have figured out to pay you for less hours to average out the difference, s , so you get an extra quarter and hour , but be sure to only work 30 hours this weeks , you actually make less, , keep same wage but increase the hours, failed government again

True, but that would only apply to big businesses. Small business owners won't be able to meet the new higher wage demands and thus will be unable to hire as many individuals as before

I don't believe he wants to fix prices, dude. All he wants to do is raise the minium wage, which we already have. Raising 7 dollars to 9 dollars, which I think might actually be a bad idea, is all he is doing. People need to stop crying communism every time he does something a bit liberal.

When people make more the cost of everything goes up so the company can make up for it. And the government will suck more taxes out per check.
