Storing food in mylar bags

How much more storage do you expect to get out of the Mylar bags compared to the plastic bags the rice comes in ??

The rice I have bought in Australia has a 2 year shelf life in the sealed plastic bag :)

how much more with Mylar ??

@angie7dino - if stored in say a 70 - 80 degree temp range, rice should stay good for 20+ years.

@dixieunited Mylar blocks all light and is a little tougher then the foodsavers.  Some people use both. Seal em in mylar and put that in a food saver. Most people mylar then buckets.

yea i store my weed in similar bags. Keeps it nice and fresh until i need it:)

@OurTimeIsOut I usually freeze for a couple of days, unfreeze for a day or two, freeze again and after that, I let it sweat it out, and finally store.
