to think this guy was the world champion at the company he was in before this!, it was almost as if vince was tryna prove a point by burrying guys like him and raven and billy kidman etc as if to show that his company was better than all the others, so petty

You're 1/2 correct. It *is* because of copyright issues but not because of marvel, but be Rhino owned the trademark for his name since he traveled overseas and used it for trade.
