Bats - Flying Foxes Part 1, were filmed at Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. These bats were very high up in a tree canopy along a rainforest creek area. I couldn't use a tripod as the bats were too high up and it's pretty rough but I hope to get a better film in the future. Taken by John Boom and is being presented by Australian Pictorials: www.australianpictorials.com
I love flying foxes too! Without them we would have no World Heritage forests, hardwood trees, eucalypts, melaleucas, bananas, pawpaws, mangos, peaches, durians etc. That means they are keystone species that all the other species depend on. It's time people stopped thinking of them as dirty, disease-ridden pests and started appreciating their irreplaceable ecosystem services.
