Arad Temple - Book of Mormon Evidence

The Book of Mormon, like the Bible, contains a record of God's dealings with a part of the House of Israel. It contains prophecies of Christ and also reveals how Christ, after his resurrection and ascension into heaven, later ministered to those who had waited for him in the New World. The Book of Mormon was anciently abridged by a prophet named Mormon and was engraved on gold plates, to preserve the sacred writing for a future time.

Joseph Smith received the divine commission to translate the gold plates through the power of God. The translation was published in 1830 as a volume of scripture, a sacred record.

We invite all people everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Those who gain this divine witness from the Holy Spirit will also come to know by the same power that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is his revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the second coming of the Messiah.

There were jews and israelites period who did not go along with the Jerusalem priesthood.David and later Solomon tried to unite Israel under one Temple and one God Yawweh.But the past was to deep.Some Israelites still remembered the High God El who sat over the assembly of the Eloheem.

At this point everyone is just yelling. There is really no need to be angry at one another. I do find it interesting that those who argue against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints seem to try so hard to insult. Christ was an offender to many, but i do not feel the Savior would approve of deliberate contention and anger. People on both sides of any religious debate should be respectful and kind. Patience and charity should govern here, not hostility and hate.

@freestanding1000 It is clear that early understanding was throughout Mormon congregations that the ENTIRE lands of the western hemisphere represented the book of Mormon, but archaeology, and scholarly facts are proving this to not be the case. You cannot fight the science, and if the wording of the book of Mormon is properly assessed one can come to the same conclusion as FAIR has in this video. Funny there is more archaeology in favor of the book of Mormon than the old testament today.

@LDS4Life71 If you do a bit more research you'll find I comment as widely as possible so that even one Mormon may read and do some investigation for themselves. It seems strange that the early Mormon Church, including Smith and his compatriots, all placed the BOM on American (US) soil. Now that no evidence has been found for an American placement the LDS church has switched locations to Central America. This is good as there are ready edifices and archaeology, albeit unrelated to the BOM.

@EscapeNewJersey Other groups are not part of the LDS church? But they still subscribe to the BOM or a translation of it, do they not? You cannot separate yourself from similar theological groups yet impose upon Christianity a complete oneness amongst all the differing theological groups. Your church lumps all Christianity as one in order to create an enemy but that’s a characteristic of cults; us-versus-them mentality.

@EscapeNewJersey I don't speak for (answer for) the Catholic church, Christianity as a whole, or those men whom you mentioned. Baker, Swaggart, et al do not preach the Gospel I preach and I don't support them. Remember, as with the Mormon faith there are many groups within Christianity and they don't see eye to eye theologically. I speak for me, that's as far as I can go conclusively. Do you answer for the other Mormon groups? As we will do before God, answering for ourselves, so we do on earth.

@EscapeNewJersey These men are fellow sinners with me. But Jesus saves us by grace, not of anything that we can do or accomplish. I cannot be “good enough” to go to heaven. On the day I die I may sin but I’ll go to Heaven. That’s what grace is. It's His church, bought and paid with His blood and only through Jesus are we redeemed, not Joseph Smith, not the LDS church, not any church, not through concrete temples, but the Temple of Jesus’ body He raised on the 3rd day. Salvation is in Jesus only.

Why does the Mormon church do any research at all? Don't they just tell people to pray to Heavenly Father and he will tell them that the BOM is true? What's happening now, they don't believe the answer they're getting from Heavenly Father? Are they actually going to try to proooove the BOM now? No! That would mean they would actually have to engage, answer direct questions and yes even admit, possibly, that they are incorrect, that the BOM is NOT true and that Joseph Smith was a fraud.

@ 0.5 Peterson admits that "many people are surprised that Nephi build a Hebrew temple in the new world when he gets there" . Perhaps too it is a great surprised that Hebrew temple/s are not found in the new world. Where are these Hebrew temples ? Are you suggesting that Mayan Ziggurat stone buildings are what Nephi builds as a Hebrew temple ? The book of mormon does not describe ziggurat stone pyramids. The book of Mormon only describes Nephi building a Solomon's Temple.
