Sorry to take so long to respond. Adding a sidecar to any bike completely changes the handling. You no longer ride the bike, you drive it. You almost always have to apply pressure to the handlebars. On take off you have to counteract the pull to the right with pressure to the left. On stopping it is just the opposite. Weight in the sidecar and head winds also impact it. Sidecars are funny....you either love them or hate them with very little in between.

The difference between a solo bike and one with a sidecar is like going from a sprts car to a dump truck. You no longer ride the bike...you drive it. That dead weight on the right will build your arm muscles up fast. Best advice is to just dedicate a bike as a sidecar tug and not even tinker with the idea of pulling it off and on. I bought the entire BMW rig off ebay. They have plenty on there. My current rig..I bought the sidecar first and then bought the bike to pull it.

Hi-Where did you get the sidecar and did it effect the handling terribly? I have same bike with 10,000 original miles. Always thought of a sidecar. Any suggestions please/

this is exactly what I was looking for! its nearly perfect, all black, with a sidecar, windshield on both the bmw and the sidecar, and its an 82 r100rt! how much did you sold it for?
