That price is a little steep at nearly 1200 dollars. I see them for 500 dollars and soemtimes on sale for 449 dollars. why so expensive?

You guys must be mistaken, this saw can't be purchased retail & new in New Zealand for anywhere near 399. Only a liquidation sale could produce such a price, or a combined sale with other high value products. All internet price searches show RRP at $1199, which is the official Husky price as listed in all the documentation.
By all means produce evidence of an NZ retailer selling these babies at $399, and I'll believe it.
