  • I never thought John Buscema got the credit he deserved but I loved his work. I discuss the lack of recognition in a review I did of a collection of Avengers comics. To see the review do a Google search for ''squidoo essential avengers.''

  • @goldenrulecomics Did: Cool! Loved John's return to the Avengers in the mid-80s too, WHAT a comeback; together with Stern's scripting another magical run in my book.

  • My favorite Marvel artist along with Starlin.

  • @Tabish29 Both very special artists for me, too...

  • rest in peace

  • @thesharpenedblade Yes. Comics never were the same after...

  • Combining the dynamism of jack Kirby and the realism of Neal Adams John Buscema was truly a GIANT in the industry. He could do it all. I don't think there was a Marvel character that wasn't drawn by him in the mid seventies!

I STILL have my hardcover copy of How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way that I bought when I was twelve years old. It's tattered, torned, and falling apart but I wouldn't trade it for anything. (Well, maybe for some original artwork from the big guy himself. LOL)

  • this guy was my hero as a kid . his work on the savage sword of conan with alfredo alcala is some of the greatest comic art i have seen .

and no one has ever come close to his silver surfer
