I hear that a lot(the dam level being hard), but I never thought of it as a hard level, I've rarely ever run out of time in this level, and rarely died because of the golden instant-death-seaweed. I think the hardest area in the game is area 5, where you have to find the Technodrome from one of the three underground areas.

I hated this stage! It's those plants that damage you badly if you hit them. Those things always killed me, I really rarely got through this stage.
