Volunteers from Tampa Bay, Pinellas County, Florida give a Day of Service to the veterans at the Bay Pines VA Hospital. Volunteers visited veterans, gave them cards of thanks and children sang to them. The grounds were cleaned, raked, mulched and an old gazebo was rebuilt after many years of disrepair.
There were approximately 700 volunteers from the area who worked for 4 hours. A large majority of the volunteers were from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints along with a charitable group "Warm and Fuzzy".
Many hands made the massive amount of work seem easy. It was a wonderful and moving experience to give back to our veterans for all who participated.
What a great way to honor our veterans.
