Nobel Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai planted a tree to commemorate former South African President and fellow Nobel Laureate Nelson Mandela who will be celebrating his 92nd birthday this Sunday. Maathai at the same time called on opponents of the proposed constitution to stop spreading falsehoods.

  • Maathai, you are rights. I do not understand our leaders, moreso, Kenyans themselves. We need such reasoned arguments about the draft Constitution and not misplaced populism. I still maintain that most of our leaders have no collective memory. If they had any they would have been quick to resettle the displaced persons in Kenya. Why should these Kenyans live like squatters in their own countrol when leaders continue to peddle lies on both sides of the divide? Kenyans, please reform quickly.
