Berkhamsted Castle is a ruined Norman motte-and-bailey castle at Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire, England.

The original fortification dates from Saxon times. Work on the Norman structure was started in 1066 by William the Conqueror who later passed the castle to his half-brother, Robert, Count of Mortain.

@Maladay Those steps aint to bad, looks worse than it is. Yup Berkhamsted is an awesome place and so far hasnt been touched by the blight of mass importation of people, i guess it will stay this way as 99% of the land around it is protected and not allowed to be built on. xxxxx
