@Corilof, so it wasnt and engine problem.

I have this car, but I thought it had a rev limiter while in park?

The problem is that your spark plugs are miss firing. It could be problems with your spark plug or wires. what happens is your spark plugs sparks at a certain order and if one your spark plug is bad this happens. try replacing your spark plugs and make sure their dry.

@Motorfordtoyota Where did you check? What car would you suggest?

Last time I checked, Chrysler was the worst car you could buy next to Kia, and Hyundia.
Maybe it shouldnt go to 6,000rpm

"Redline refers to the maximum engine speed at which an internal combustion engine or traction motor and its components are designed to operate without causing damage to the components themselves or other parts of the engine."
The car redlines at 6,500 RPM. Unless you have a good explanation for your comments, I don't see a need for it here.
As stated below, the problem was fixed.

I hace the same stratus the problem could be the "sparkplug cables" well here in México we call them, if is this problem is cheap to fix, aprox $80 or 90 USD, and the other could be just the "tuning" well, in my stratus i had this problems the last year and this year, mi stratus has 160,000 km......

That was part of the problem. I got it fixed now.
I had to replace the EGR valve, spark plugs (the plugs themselves, wires and coil). She's working fine now, so hopefully that's all!
