Hard Candy clip 5: The Pedophiles

A smart, charming teenage girl, Hayley probably shouldn't be going to a local coffee shop to meet Jeff, a 30-something fashion photographer she met on the Internet. But before she knows it, she's mixing drinks at Jeff's place and stripping for an impromptu photo shoot. It's Jeff's lucky night. But Hayley isn't as innocent as she looks, and the night takes a turn when she begins to impose a hard-hitting investigation on Jeff in an attempt to reveal his possibly scandalous past. HARD CANDY is an edge-of-your-seat psychotic thriller.

Think of if he was played by lets say Stanley Tucci. Remember his creeper role in Lovely Bones. Gah. Slimy.

I think these writers wanted to give the character a more human seeming appearance to not make the situation so black and white.

And when Haley lied and pretended to play his game, it would seem more believable to the audience. For a while people become frightened as to what they are watching? It nearly feels wrong. And then BAM

@Rosadecerca That's the point. There's no markers like leering eyes and slobbery fangs. It could be, and often as not is, the man next door, or in your church or on your school board.

Its proving a point. He killed innocent girls and she gave him his freedom through suicide.

There were choices. And if he didnt hang himself, his girlfriend would be told and he would be locked up. she cornered him with a choice. And he made his decision. She didnt tie the noose around his neck.

For all those whining about how wrong it is for him to die (hot as he is, and all) you forget his pedophiliac history. He took pictures of, raped and murdered young girls.

Think of it this way even---That girl is YOUR child. Homosexuality has been made legal in some states. Pedophilia can destroy someones childhood, which would hang with them forever. Always untrusting. Children are just that---children. They need to mature before sexuality occurs. If this were your child, would you want some 40 year old touching her in those ways? It's like anything else. People have urges all the time that shouldnt be acted out. And he didnt seem to want help.

the actor who plays de pedophile character makes me think of pedphiles in a most humanistic way. Sorry, I can´t see a horrible monster in him. Maybe too cute, maybe too young.
