Whiskey earned double Q #18 at the Dog Obedience Training Club of Rochester, NY's agility show in Macedon, NY. The standard Q was not without drama - the judge called a refusal for the 2nd jump of the 180, even though she never turned in towards the jump when she was sniffing. I was mad, Whiskey did great (except she was CONVINCED it was a down on the table - it was not - so we lost more time), I gave her her cookies in her crate, then walked each boy separately. I needed time to cool down. I was walking back to the rings when I passed Rick MacIntosh (agility rep), and I asked him if he had seen Whiskey's run, and what did he think? Since people were trying to stake down the wing jumps (very windy today), he immediately jumped up and said - oh yeah! I wanted to talk to him about that. I said I didn't want to be a complainer... Rick jumped over the ring gating and talked to the judge. And the judge reversed his decision. So, it was almost the double Q that wasn't! I thanked Rick for advocating for me, and he said that in the future, I shouldn't hesitate to stick up for myself. JWW was after about 30 minutes of hard rain, so it was a bit slick out there. Thanks to videographer Sidney Madsen!
