sometimes idk what happens but my fireworks kind of locks up and hand tool is only selected and i cant choose anything else. do you have any suggestions on what to do?

I would advice making the background in photoshop (or pse). Because photoshop compresses (or something else) better. My yt bg is in fireworks about 5mb but when saving it in photoshop, only 240kb!

Fireworks man... my channel background is 120kb...
I've seen your background... it can be made in fireworks aroung the same file size and quality as PS... probably how you are rendering it out. Use the Export Wizard and optimize for web.
