  • I think that a firmware update can fix the problem. Whether Nikon will address this issue is another question."

Var tvungen att skriva flera meddelanden då det inte rymdes i en.

    Denmark eller hur? :-)

  • yes

  • this video was pretty useless.

  • Like, myabcmyabs wrote, the motor can't be turned off on the P5000 so the noise will always be there.

  • I strongly believe Nikon will fix any problem if it can be done by firmware change. They continued to provide firmware update to my COOLPIX 5000 until March 2004, This camera was 1st introduced in Oct 2001. What's more, one of the firmwares actually add new feature - RAW support.

  • But, this motor can not be stop however disable the VR function.

  • it's just the anti-shake at work. the motor is turned on so that it is ready to cancel out any shaking of the camera. all professional nikon lenses with VR have that noise when the VR is on as well.

  • It is the VR at work, i think, thats what they said in dpreview's forum.

  • I asked if a firmware update would solve this issue by turning off the motor during the shooting of video. He said it can't be done. He also told me that I can use the SU-800 commander unit to control external flash units. I found out from members of this forum that I can't. So I'm inclined not to believe this rep in regards to not being able to solve the noise issue with the servo motor.
