In this edition of FotoTV.News we report on the recent Sony World Photography Awards 2011. This year's the event was held at the Odeon Theater in London.
This growing competition with over 105,000 entries from 162 countries is truly a world event. We have Scott Gray from the World Photography Organization to give us an overwiew and an invitation to particpate in next years competition.
Both the open and the professional competitions include many categories. There are also awards for recognition and achievement. This years winner for "Outstanding Contribution to Photography", Magnum photographer Bruce Davidson is on hand to share his current interests and upcoming projects.
We share the winning photos in such diverse categories as After Dark, Arts/Culture, Smile, and Panoramic, from which a single overall winner is declared. The over-all winners from both the open and professional categories and their works are featured with some live coverage direct from the reception at the Odeon.
