  • Playing touch has definitely helped my game reading in union, and I'm a tight 5 forward.

  • pretty GAY!

  • @marcellin20a It's why plucky young businessmen have to take this on hard. :D

    I'm thinking about it.

  • touch rugby should be as develped to be professional as 7s rugby. I see it as the equivilent of handball in terms of exposure. Its a great sport and any country can play it.

  • @alesssj4 i would disagree with you there, the principles are the same in both sports you hit repeatedly in narrow channels to get quick ruck ball sucking the outter defenders in, then you go wide, , his comment was based on that fact, of course a class touch player is not always going to be good at union because of the physicality involved but a good union player will becoming a better union player by playing touch because of the common principles and higher speed and better skill requirments

  • Touch Rugby was started by players from South Sydney RUGBY LEAGUE club not Rugby. And Touch Rugby is nothing like Rugby Union-its an offshoot of Rugby League and its clear with the 6 touches and getting back 5 metres.

  • I was ok until the very last statement of "if I would've done touch instead I would've been a much better union player" - WRONG. You could definitely gain on some areas such as peripheral view and speed, but the first time a touch player go face his/her opponent and receives a bone-crashing tackle instead of an ass-tapping caress, then they'll realise the difference. I like touch, a lot.. I think it's great, above all to warm up before a sports event of ANY type.. but far from dynamics of union.

  • tocata !! jajjajaaj

  • Needs a lot more publicity in the northern hemisphere, IMO. I hope to at least see the BBC mention the World Cup next month to get a few more people thinking "hmmm... what's this 'touch' game then?". It's doing quite well for numbers in England and south Wales, but trying to get it moving in north Wales is proving to be rather problematic!

  • @tuhaks Of course the Southern Hemisphere teams would beat them, that is true and you will see that at the World Cup this summer in Edinburgh, but you also need to consider you've had the sport developing in your countries for the last 25 years. This is still a young sport in Europe. Stop being so arrogant. That is certainly not the mentality that this sport promotes.
