Insecurity has remained a major cause of fear in the country, now airlines have been forced to resort to private security plans. Some airlines flying into Jommo Kenyatta International Airport have hired private security firms to guard their passengers, Cargo and aircraft. Although US and Kenyan authorities say there is no immediate threat of terrorism to the airport or to airlines operating there, previous incidents have raised concern. Kenya has been hit with three major incidents over the past 11 years. The question of security at the Nairobi airport was raised again last month when Delta airlines abruptly canceled an inaugural flight from Atlanta to Nairobi after the transportation security administration declined to sanction the route.
