your worst skydiving nightmare: double malfunction!

This is Miracle Mike: after deploying his main parachute, his reserve deployed accidently. (He was jumping a DOLPHIN container). He made several jumps on this same container that day, but did not notice that the RSL laynard had a routing problem that developed from mishandling the container and from the crappy design of the container. The main risers pulled the RSL lanyard out and dumped his reserve into his main! The jumper compounded his problems by cutting away his main which severley entangled with his reserve. He gently spun around without control of either parachute from 4000 feet, or so, while a couple of hundred people watched in terror from the ground. He disappeared behind the tree line. 911 was called before he ever hit the ground. (Magot called 311 just for kicks!) Me, and Bruce and Guy went into the woods expecting to see a badly broken and mangled body, but, Mike was laying flat on his back in thick mud with a look of surpirse on his face! He was miraculously uninjured. He returned from the hospital a few hours later with nothing but a single scratch on his neck. whew! after careful analysis of the video you can see that the main has at least 4 cells inflated. The reserve is creating additional drag as well to slow him down to a survivable speed. In addition, landing in soft thick mud and bushes helped to break his fall. Had his main actually managed to clear after cutting away, and or if he landed on concrete, Miracle Mike might have been nicknamed 'Mop-up Mike' instead.

@HugeDeek true. well ive never even had a major malfunction :P ive had minor ones but nothing where ive even considered the reserve! so yeah maybe...maybe that could be a money maker for you, make a small enough container which will have 3 chutes ;)
