Kpatsa is a drum/dance ensemble from Ghana West Africa. Here Ghana's most outstanding and accomplished female Master Drummer leads some of her western drumming students in the rhythm of Kpatsa. Like many ensembles this one has a story. This story is of a man who goes into the the forest against taboo (there is no hunting on Wednesdays) and he is captured by dwarfs. He lives with the dwarves for 40 long days, doing everything with the dwarfs -- eating, sleeping, etc... AND drumming. While in the forest he learns the dwarfs' music. After 40 days he escapes their clutches and goes back to his village. On the way into town he hears a mother calling for her daughter, Naki Lei. , to come home. This is the sung song you hear between the drumming. Enjoy! To learn more about Ghana's outstanding and immensely talented female Master Drummer visit, http://womanofrhythm.blogspot.com/
