California Sun

Check out my CD "Old Blues" on ITunes and CD Baby. Final chapter of a trilogy now called: "Northern Dreams of Sunnier Climes or Get Me Outta Here It's Freakin' Cold." This one was not recorded with the others - one didn't make the cut. This one is a proto-punk rock ditty that I've reworked into a proto-folk ditty. It is a folk song of sorts. Though first recorded in 1961, the best known version, by the Rivieras, hit #5 in 1964: the year of the Beatles and of my generation's musical awakening.
