We are excited to share a killer series of techniques demonstrated by Alliance Black Belt, Ian McPherson.
These are great because they are high percentage and relative ease to pull them off. Ian shows three options once you get the paper cutter grip: First, is the paper cutter choke, Second is an armbar, and last is a Kimura.
Check them out and give 'em a shot, then let us know what you think.

@saltyseaweed You are correct about the shoulder lock in this video being an Americana, however, you don't need to use a figure-four grip to do either, as this video shows the Americana without it, and you can do single-arm Kimuras from side control. Just sayin'.

Paper cutter choke is my favorite technique. Tried that shoulder lock last night too and it works like a charm, beauty technique! Thanks for the upload!

@COPE4N1 Front shoulder lock is americana, also known as key lock. Kimura is the reverse americana, or rear shoulder lock. Figure four wrist lock is the grip you need to lock either.

@saltyseaweed Usually wouldnt do this but if you want to "nitpick" it is neither, though it is a shoulder lock with the same mechanics as a americana, kimura, key lock, figure four wrist lock, etc, etc.

Nitpick, but that's americana, not kimura . . .
