In 2002, I got to spend an hour interviewing Martin Scorsese for a series of shorts that aired on Discovery a couple of days before the release of his movie Gangs of New York. Its a film hes been dreaming of making for 20 years and he was so fired up about it, his answer to my first question lasted 11 minutes. We were shooting on super 16-minute film, and he burned through an entire reel! It was such good material, that I couldnt bring myself to cut him off. I mean fuggedabadit, its Martin Sorsese for chrissakes.

Anyhow, of the nine shorts I ended up producing, heres one of my favorites -- because it sheds light on a episode of American history that most people dont know about.

  • imagine if thereal army shot the protesters.

  • Honestly I never understood why people dislike the ending to GONY, I blown away to be honest because the symbolism of it smacked you in the face. I guess nobody else share my opinion because there's no clip of the riots on YT.

  • If they can't exploit Blacks, then they attempt to kill Blacks. If they can't kill Blacks, then they attempt to move as far away from Blacks as they can. . . .Pftt!!! (A)
